Caroline Potts and Peter Lansdown went up to London for the Peoples March

21 October 2019

Caroline Potts and Peter Lansdown went up to London for the Peoples March.

Joining the march at Hyde Park Corner they found themselves swept slowly into Picaddilly surrounded by Samba Bands and placard bearing marchers of all ages. Families were bravely there, it must have been difficult with push chairs, some kids loved riding on parents’ shoulders!

Star studded berets were for sale and we had our fishing rod topped with an EU flag, put the two together and we became irresistible to camera wielding Japanese tourists!.

An hour was spent moving along Picadilly which meant it was lunchtime as we approached the Royal Academy, Suitably fortified we rejoined the march which was still coming up Picadilly and by way of a few back streets we finally made Parliament Square in time to hear Caroline Lucas with her plea for a Peoples’ Vote.

How different the scene from just a few days before when Extinction Rebellion had been here with their plea for the truth on Climate Change, suitable actions and a peoples assembly.

It seems there is no faith in the word of politicians on either the Climate or Europe.
